Mobile UI Design Services

Mobile design is constrained design: one hand, a small screen, interruptions every few minutes and a user who will delete the app if the first session confuses them. Those constraints make the decisions for you if you respect them.

What We Design

App interfaces from first-run through to the screens power users live in.

App Interface Design

Complete screen design across both platforms, respecting each one's conventions.

Onboarding Flows

First-run experiences that get users to value quickly, since most uninstalls happen on day one.

Mobile Design Systems

Components and tokens shared across platforms, with platform-specific variants where they matter.

Interaction & Motion

Gestures, transitions and micro-interactions specified so developers implement them consistently.

App Redesign

Modernising existing apps incrementally, screen by screen, without a disruptive relaunch.

Accessibility Design

Dynamic type, VoiceOver and TalkBack behaviour, contrast and touch targets designed in.

What Handover Includes

01

Platform specifications

Safe areas, spacing and type scales specified per platform.

02

Motion specs

Duration, easing and choreography defined rather than left to interpretation.

03

Asset export

Icons and images at every required density, correctly named for each platform.

04

Dark mode

A designed dark theme rather than an inverted palette that ruins the contrast.

05

Notification design

Push, in-app and permission-prompt design, including when to ask.

06

Build review

We review builds against the design and log every difference.

Who We Design For

Products with real complexity — where the design job is deciding what goes on the screen, not decorating what is already there.

Design Capabilities Beyond The Screens

What makes a design usable by developers and durable as the product grows.

Design systems

Documented components, variants and tokens rather than a folder of finished screens.

Tokens in code

Colour, spacing and type exported in a form engineering consumes directly.

Every state designed

Empty, loading, error and edge cases handed over with the happy path.

Accessibility

Contrast, focus order, target sizes and screen reader behaviour checked during design.

User research

Interviews and usability testing, so decisions come from evidence rather than internal debate.

Build review

We review the implemented interface against the design and log the differences.

How We Work

Flows before screens, prototypes before handover.

Flows and structure

Navigation model and key journeys agreed before visual design.

Design

Screens and components designed for both platforms, in sprints.

Prototype and test

Interactive prototype tested on real devices with real users.

Hand over

Full specifications, assets and support through the build.

Mobile Design Questions

Everything you need to know about our design work.

Mostly, but not entirely. Brand and layout should be consistent; navigation patterns, system components and gestures should follow each platform. Users notice when an app feels foreign to their phone even if they cannot name why.

When you need it. A tablet layout is genuinely different work rather than a stretched phone screen, so we scope it separately and only recommend it when your usage data justifies the cost.

Yes. We audit the current app, identify the highest-impact screens and redesign incrementally so improvements ship continuously instead of waiting for a full relaunch.

As a designed theme with its own colour decisions. Inverting a light palette produces poor contrast and harsh surfaces, so we design both from the same tokens and check both for accessibility.
